Dear Colleagues

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for how you have been responding to the unprecedented challenges that are being created by the Covid-19 pandemic. I am very proud to be part of an organisation that has responded collectively and as individuals to ensure that we continue to offer the highest quality service to our clients, customers and colleagues.

The focus for us all so far has been about delivering change while maintaining consistency and quality of the service. We have had to adjust to the changing public health environment, reflect the differing service requirements our clients require as they support their customers and do all of this while adjusting our ways of working! You have achieved this while maintaining high morale, a good sense of humour and, most importantly, ensuring that we are fair and respectful to our customers and colleagues in these difficult times.Following on from the announcements made by Government, it is now time for us to implement further measures to ensure the wellbeing of employees as well as maintaining a quality service for our customers and clients.
From Thursday 25th March we will be reducing our opening hours to 9am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday with only a small number of employees continuing to come to work to provide limited services.
We will be asking a significant number of employees to accept the offer to take furlough, which means you will be asked not to come into work but will continue to be paid 80% of your salary, thanks to a Government initiative to help stop the spread of the virus.
We hope that these measures will help to protect the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, enable us to be there to support our customers and to put us in the best position to be able to get the business back to usual as quickly as possible when it is safe to do so.
We will continue to provide updates via this web page as a when there is news to share.
I sincerely hope that you understand this decision and the urgent action we have taken and sincerely hope that you, your family and your friends all make it through this very difficult period safely.
Thank you
Mark.

The Government have now released a new online isolation note service for people who are unable to work more than seven days because of the coronavirus.

Staff can access the service through: https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19

After answering a few questions, an isolation note will be issued via email. Staff can forward these notes to HRdept@advantiscredit.com

Should you have any questions, please contact your manager.

As a way to communicate and to keep everyone informed the business is going to be using SMS messages. This means we can quickly update all employees, in or out of work, of any business changes or updates and will provide everyone with a link to our staff page on the Advantis Website.  Therefore, it’s really important that everyone has their personal mobile numbers updated within our PeopleHR system.  Please can this be done by close of business today, as from tomorrow we will be using SMS as an additional way to communicate to everyone.

Should you have any questions, please ask your manager.

Government advice

The Government have now advised that anyone displaying flu like symptoms (high temperate and/or a new continuous cough) should be self-isolating for 14 days. This advice also extends to people living in the same household as someone presenting symptoms and self-isolating. Therefore, if someone in your household is self-isolating you have to also self-isolate with them for 14 days.

Any employee who leaves work unwell due to these symptoms will be unable to return to work for a minimum of 14 days. You should also contact your manager before returning.

Whether you are self-isolating due to personal symptoms or because someone in your household is experiencing symptoms, this will be covered by sick pay or SSP.

As a business we want to do everything we can to protect our employees and from today we will be:

Stopping all external meetings and all visitors attending our site,  cleaning all of the internal door handles throughout the business at regular intervals during the day

We also encourage everyone to do everything they can to help themselves and each other:

Wash their hands upon arrival into the business and use the hand sanitiser machines when entering and exiting the contact centre and/or back office, use the cleaning kits to clean own desk, telephones and keyboards regularly, practise social distancing where possible within 121’s and meetings

Should you have any questions, please ask your manager.

Following several questions about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), please find further information below.

There are no changes to our company policies regarding sick pay. If you are sick and unable to attend work due to COVID-19 or any other conditions you will be paid company sick pay, if you have sick pay entitlement. Otherwise you will receive Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in line with the prevailing eligibility criteria.

In the eventuality that the schools shut and you believe this would impact your ability to come to work due to a lack of child care, this would not be covered by sick pay. If you have concerns about your ability to come to work in these circumstances, please speak to your manager as soon as possible.

Government advice

The Government have now advised that if you have a high temperate and/or a new continuous cough, however mild, you do not leave your home for 7 days.

Internal advice

If you are unwell and showing any signs (as detailed above) you should follow the normal absence reporting process.

If you have recently travelled outside of the UK, have been in contact with anyone unwell, are a carer for a family member or have any underlying medical conditions yourself, please make your manager aware.

Can all staff please check their personal contact number on People HR and update if necessary.

We would like staff to be sensible and limit physical contact where possible, such as not hugging or shaking hands with colleagues or visitors.

The cleaning kits have been restocked but can everyone please ensure they do not take and leave the wipes or sprays at their desk. Please ensure they are placed back in the cleaning kits so that all staff have access.

We will be providing regular updates to keep you informed of Government and internal advice and changes.
